“The Website is the window to the soul of the business” William Shakespeare – I may be paraphrasing
What I mean by this is that I’m doing this website myself. You may not be surprised to learn this but I thought I’d throw this out here because I’m going to start a section on here dedicated to opening a small business. There are things that I really wish I’d known when I started my own business so I thought it would end up being a bit of a learn-from-my-fail.
The first article I’m going to post is how to decide when it’s time to outsource. I will be forced to discuss when to outsource your accounting but really it’s not entirely about pointing you to my services (specifically). As a small business owner myself, I’ve gone through this same sort of internal debate.
I actually did outsource my web site a couple of times and in the end, made the decision to bring it back inhouse. If you say that it doesn’t sound like you’re doing it yourself even though…you’re doing it yourself.
Right now, I’m working with a marketing company. I went through a few different rabbit holes trying to learn my own marketing before I made that decision.
I attended a seminar last week about this very topic and they are seeing more and more small businesses hire virtual assistants as their first outsource.
I’m sure it will be a wonderful article…as soon as I write it.
BUT having it here as a thing to do puts it out there for accountability reasons.
